10 - Assorted sprinkles or edible glitter (optional)
# How to Make It:
01 - In a mixing bowl, beat the butter and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy.
02 - Add the egg and vanilla extract to the butter mixture and blend until fully combined.
03 - Sift the all-purpose flour and salt into the wet ingredients, then stir until a soft dough forms.
04 - Shape the dough into a disc, wrap it in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
05 - Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
06 - Roll the chilled dough on a lightly floured surface to about 1/4 inch thickness and cut into boot shapes using a cookie cutter.
07 - Arrange cutouts on the baking sheet and bake for 10 to 12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. Transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
08 - Mix powdered sugar with milk to create a thick, spreadable glaze. Divide and tint with the desired food coloring.
09 - Apply colored icing and sprinkles to the cooled cookies. Allow icing to set before serving.
